Bernstein: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano (1941-42) REVISED EDITION with CC
- 2 in stock
This sonata was composed between 1941 and 1942 whilst Bernstein was studying at the Curtis Institute. It was at this point in his life that he was unsure whether to devote his life to conducting, playing the piano, or composing. The sonata begins in the approach of his teachers, but quickly moves into a contemporary style, full of jazzy syncopations and popular American conventions.
